| Welcome to the new
look! I was finding it difficult to maintain a website, and quite
frankly I was a bit bored with it. I have discovered my passion
lies mainly with genealogy, history, antiques, etc. (see the theme
here?) I have also just discovered blogs, and I decided to start
blogging instead... it's a nifty concept that keeps you posted with all
the latest content! Below are a listing of the blogs I have created... |
| Lisa's Family Genealogy: | Hallman, Schulte, Chesney, Raas, Ostrowski, Hoeninghausen, Hallman, Dettloff, Hincka, etc. |
| Michael's Family Genealogy: | Haerens, Hawley, Booth, Flewelling, Hebert, Lapan, Ross, Tye |
| This Old House: | About our old house and antiques |
Visiting a blog /web site is always cool, but most the time you just do
not have the time to continually visit to see what's new, right?
What a blog does is it allows you to subscribe to it, and anytime there
is new content it is automatically delivered in your email or blog
reader!
This is what is known as an RSS feed... (Really
Simple Syndication) or news feeds.
I use Microsoft Outlook for my email, but Outlook also allows me to subscribe to RSS feeds as well.
I also use Google Reader which is online so I can read all my subscriptions when I am away from home.
I am able to keep what I want and delete what I do not want.
So, if you do not have Outlook, I suggest Google Reader unless you are
feeling adventurous and want to try a different one. EASY PEASY!
That little orange icon you see in is one of the
universal symbols letting you know a news feed is available.
When you are visiting a blog just click on it, and allow the posts to come to you through Google, or whatever you are using!
