Clara Doughty & Adelbert Knight married on July 31, 1893 in Killmaster, Alcona, Michigan.  They were married by Justice John H. Killmaster.  Clara’s older sister, Hannah also got married the same day to a much older Caleb White.  (clicking on the photo makes it larger.)

Name:  A.C. Hotchkiss (Hoskiss)  It is believed her name is Asenath Cornelia, though on one document she appears as “Marianna.”

Adelbert Knight is buried in Greely Cemetery in Green Township, Michigan at the young age of 42 years old.  He is the first born son of Benjamin Knight and Asenath Hoskiss and lived in Genesee County, Michigan until his marriage in 1893.  He died of a fractured skull.  Seems he was in a logging accident, and a log fell on him.  He left behind a young wife, Clara (Doughty) Knight and 5 young children.  After his death his wife was unable to care for the children, and she farmed them out to various families in the area.  His memorial is posted at Find-A-Grave where a kind soul took this photo.
