The Hebert family has been challenging to research. Hebert is French and sounds like “Abare”… so sometimes the names is spelled that way as well. Charles Hebert and his wife, Celeste, were both born in Quebec, Canada. They move to the United States, and they first appear in the 1850 census of Clinton County, New York. After the death of their son, Toussaint, their daughter-in-law, Catherine and their granddaughter Harriet moved to Bay County, Michigan. Harriet Hebert (Abare) married Richard Lapan.  (I intend to add more information here with documents, etc.)
